Dr. Harrison D. Fortney

Dr. Fortney has been in practice in Poway since 1973. He is a member of the San Diego Dental Association. He is Board-Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Fortney graduated from Ohio State University's undergraduate program and dental school in 1967. He went on to practice general dentistry in the U. S. Navy from 1967-1970. Dr. Fortney served with the U. S. Naval Support Activity in Da Nang, Vietnam, and aboard the U. S. S. Isle Royale. Following his naval career, Dr. Fortney completed his oral and maxillofacial residency at Detroit General Hospital, which is affiliated with the Wayne State School of Medicine and the University of Detroit Dental School from 1970-1973.

Dr. and Mrs. Forney have been married for 37 years. They enjoy spending time with their three children and two grandchildren. Their oldest daughter, Christian, is an orthodontist with Hidden Valley orthodontics in Escondido, California. Their son, Todd, is a real estate agent. Robyn, their youngest daughter, is in the collegiate sports management field.
